Torbay Transformation

A full gut-and-rebuild that transformed a closed-off, compartmentalized main floor into a bright, open, and cohesive living space. Every detail — from the custom cabinetry to the new hardwood floors and widened staircase — was thoughtfully rebuilt from the ground up.

Torbay Transformation

When the Van Cleave team walked into this home, every space was telling the same story — a closed-off layout, a kitchen that couldn’t keep up with the family living in it, and finishes that were ready for a fresh start. The homeowners were ready for something completely new, and that’s exactly what we delivered. From demolition to final finish, this was a true ground-up rebuild spanning the kitchen, powder bath, laundry, hallway, and staircase. Walls were relocated, framing was reworked, a new casement window was added to the kitchen, and the staircase was widened with new oak treads stained to match the freshly installed hardwood floors — every decision made with both function and flow in mind.

The finished result is a bright, transitional home that feels open and intentional from every angle. The light perimeter custom cabinets pair with the warm wood tones and quartz countertops, while pendant lights over the island and under-cabinet lighting add warmth and depth. A new fireplace surround, tile work in the powder bath and laundry, and a fully rebuilt powder bath with relocated walls round out a project that touched nearly every corner of the main living space — and the result is a home that finally feels as good on the inside as it looks from the outside.
